This online class is for those who want to create innovative online animations. Students learn to create engaging animated SWF files and incorporate interactivity using ScriptAssist. File formats like .flv and .fla, animation, tweens, instances, scripting and more are covered. Students that take this online class receive a $150 credit toward any hands-on classes at Ascend.
This online class is for those who are experienced in Flash and want to learn to add interactivity using Actionscript 3.0. We use a step-by-step method to teach the incorporation of Actionscript into Flash projects. Students learn to use the Actionscript 3.0 language, plus animation, tweens, instances, scripting, and building applications. Students who take this online class receive a $150 credit toward any hands-on class at Ascend.

Adobe Flash CS4 Level 1: Rich Content Creation is an introductory course for designers and budding developers new to the Flash environment, or those that have not had formal training. Students will produce an engaging Flash interface using text, graphics, animations, video, and sound. User interactions are added using built in Flash ActionScript behaviors and Script Assist. Students will leave this class with the ability to create and incorporate web animations.

The course teaches fundamental programming techniques. This 1 day Quickstart class will cover the main concepts of web animation
in Flash CS4. This one day beginners' course, focuses on how Flash works,
and editing and creating basic animations. We also work with
text, creating navigation systems. Students taking this class have a 50% credit
towards the more indepth 3 day InDesign Level 1 workshop.
Moving to ActionScript 3.0 is a one-day course for those with a background in object-oriented programming in a Flash environment. To take this class you should have an intermediate level of familiarity with the Flash Authoring environment and ActionScript 2.0. Perfect for those coming from a ColdFusion or JavaScripting environment.
With Flash CS4, you can import Photoshop .psd files and Illustrator .ai files and preserve the layers, then edit them locally in Adobe Flash CS4. Flash also now lets you customize the files during import with advanced import options.
The Flash video exporter has new features which improve the ease of creating and manipulating video in Flash. These features include deinterlacing right in the exporter and better file management and customization. Flash CS4 has motion export, which you can use across projects or import into Flex Builder 3. When creating motion tweens in Flash CS4, you can right click on an asset, copy the motion, and then apply it to other assets on the stage, or even objects in other projects!
You'll definitely be able to save time with the new ActionScript 3.0 which features better performance, more flexibility, and more intuitive and structured development.
When creating animations, you can convert timeline animations directly into AS3.0 code that can be edited, reused, and sampled. You can now even copy animations to apply to one object from another!
