Chicago Area Adobe User Group: Third Mondays
Join the Chicago Area Adobe User Group on third Monday of every month at Ascend. The topic will be announced this week. This free event will be held at the Ascend Chicago Loop location at 410 S. Michigan Avenue. Networking and pizza begin at 5:30, presentation begins at 6:30. The AUG meetings are a great way to network with fellow Adobe users and learn from the top professionals in the industry.

Adobe Flash Professional CS5
Adobe Flash CS5 Level 1: Rich Content Creation
This course for designers and budding developers new to the Flash environment, Students will produce an engaging Flash interface using text, graphics, animations, video, and sound. User interactions are added using built-in Flash ActionScript behaviors and Script Assist. Students will leave this class with the ability to create and incorporate web animations. Dreamweaver Website Development is suggested prior to this course.

Adobe Flash CS5 Level 3: Advanced Actionscript 3.0
This advanced Flash class is for current Flash designers with ActionScript experience. Students must be active Actionscript developers with a minimum of 1 year developing experience. Students will find that the Advanced Adobe Flash Actionscript course provides the knowledge and hands-on practice required to build more flexible and dynamic design-based Flash pieces. This course focuses on teaching students more advanced ActionScript topics that removes their reliance on timeline-based visual tools.
Adobe Flash Professional CS5 for Android Devices
Adobe Flash CS5 for Android: Building and Deploying Android Apps
This 5 day class is designed for current Actionscript users to develop and design Flash apps for Android. You will learn how Flash designers their Flash CS5 environment to publish Android apps. Students will learn how you can take current knowledge of ActionScript to add interactivity to mobile apps, including games. By the end of this class, students will have created their first Android application using Flash CS5.
Adobe FlashBuilder (Flex) CS5
Adobe Flash Builder (Flex) 4: Developing Rich Internet Applications
Flex 4: Developing Rich Client Applications provides experienced application developers with hands-on, practical experience using Flex. This three day course introduces developers to all the primary features of Flex they'll need to know in order to build a fully functional, well architected front end for a Rich Internet Application (RIA).
Flex 4: Data and Communications: The second part of this workshop provides experienced application developers with hands-on, practical experience connecting their Flex font ends to remote, dynamic data using Flex Data Services. This two day course instructs developers how to connect with remote data using web services and Flex Data Services' features allowing communication with a Java backend. In addition, skills will be learned how to manipulate and format the returned data.

Adobe Flash Catalyst CS5: Design and Development with the Creative Suite
Once Flash Catalyst is released, this course will introduce students to the cutting-edge, near-magical approach to Interactive Media design: Flash Catalyst. Working with designs and documents made in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks, and more, students will learn to add interactivity and actions while sacrificing nothing in terms of design creativity. Adobe Flash CS5 Level 2: Actionscript 3.0
This online class is for those who are experienced in Flash and want to learn to add interactivity using Actionscript 3.0. We use a step-by-step method to teach the incorporation of Actionscript into Flash projects. Students learn to use the Actionscript 3.0 language, plus animation, tweens, instances, scripting, and building applications. Students who take this online class receive a $150 credit toward any hands-on class at Ascend.
