Ascend offers hands-on, Adobe Authorized Illustrator CS3, CS4, and any possible future version classes online, in a classroom style, or at your location. Since 1998, we have offered the highest quality training for those in the creative and development communities. When learning Adobe Illustrator, we feel a more individualized training experience is vital, whether online or at our facility. All our instructors are Adobe Certified, and top professionals in their field.
Chicago Area Adobe User Group: Third Mondays
Join the Chicago Area Adobe User Group on third Monday of every month at Ascend. The topic will be announced this week. This free event will be held at the Ascend Chicago Loop location at 410 S. Michigan Avenue. Networking and pizza begin at 5:30, presentation begins at 6:30. The AUG meetings are a great way to network with fellow Adobe users and learn from the top professionals in the industry.

Adobe Illustrator CS4 Level 1: Fundamentals to Intermediate
Adobe Illustrator CS4 Level 1: Fundamentals to Intermediate is an introductory course for designers and budding developers new to the Illustrator CS4 environment, or those that have not had formal training. Students will produce an exciting graphic project using both the classic features and the new and improved tools in Illustrator CS4 from CS3. Students will leave this class with the ability to create and incorporate vector graphics projects. Prerequisite: Students must have strong computer skills, and exposure to graphic design concepts
Adobe Illustrator CS4 Level 2: Advanced and New CS4 Features
Illustrator CS4 Level 2: Advancedand new CS4 Features will build upon the knowledge planted in Part I. We will use the Effects and Filters and how they differ, and also the Appearance Palette to save a Graphic Style. We will draw and understand Bezier curves, the root of drawing in Illustrator. Other topics include, Layers, new type features to CS4 from CS3, Transparency, Symbols, Document Profiles and many more exciting new features of CS4, and how it integrates with the rest of the Fourth-generation Creative Suite.
Prerequisite: Adobe Illustrator CS4 Level I or solid knowledge of topics covered in that workshop.*Note: Adobe Illustrator CS4 Level I is highly recommended before attending this advanced class.
Online, Interactive Training
Online: Adobe Illustrator CS4, Level 1
This online class is for those who are new to Illustrator or who want to fill holes in their knowledge. Students learn to use the precision tools to create logos, illustrators, flyers and other graphics. Vector Art, Layers, Text manipulation, Formats, Styles, Export options and more are covered in this class. Students that take this online class receive a $150 credit toward any hands-on classes at Ascend.
Hands-on, Live, 1-Day Classroom Training
1-Day Quickstart Illustrator Training
This 1 day Quickstart class will cover the basics of vector based editing and image manipulation in Illustrator CS4. You will learn to create precise selections and work with Layers. You will learn about JPG, GIF, TIF and PSD files and manipulate and create images. Students taking this class will receive a 50% credit toward the 2 day InDepth Illustrator Level 1 workshop.

Ascend Training will offer classes in Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Flash CS5, Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS5, Adobe InDesign CS5, Adobe Premiere CS5, Adobe InCopy CS5 and the entire Adobe Creative Suite. No release date has been set by Adobe.
When released, Ascend Training will offer clases in: Adobe Dremweaver CS5 Classes, Adobe Flash CS5 Classes, Adobe InDesign CS5 Classes, Adobe Photoshop CS5 Classes, Adobe Illustrator CS5 Classes, Adobe Bridge CS5 Classes and the entire Creative Suite 5 when it is released. Ascend has no information on release dates, or if Adobe is planning to continue the Creative Suite past version CS4.

We are constantly offering the newest versions of all Adobe software training classes upon realease. We currently offer all CS4 classes, but will offer Adobe CS5 and CS6 classes upon release by Adobe. This includes Adobe Photoshop CS5, Adobe Flash CS5, Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, Adobe InDesign CS5, Adobe Illustrator CS6 and all Adobe future upgrades. Adobe has not announced any dates for any future upgrades.
